LCI’s September volunteer call – engaging people with our lake resources

Lake Champlain International seeks volunteers for the following: 

  1. Office supportHome

1.a  We need someone to help us build a simple database.  This is not the variety that takes a degree in computing to create, just a straightforward knowledge of windows-based open-source software

1.b As always, we would love grantwriting and data entry support.

  1. Outreach support

2.a  Friday, Sept 15th, Radio Underground is playing at the Monkey house, and we have been invited to table at the event. I need folks interested to engage people with the topic of water quality (beer is 90% water!)

2.b Sat Sept 23rd is our Outdoor Heritage dinner.  We need simply event support – selling raffle tickets, managing door entry etc.  Volunteering comes with dinner!

3.a The Catch and Cook is coming up soon! We are looking for volunteers during the event to mentor kids, and volunteers before the event to help acquire the food donations needed to host the cookout.

3.b We are also turning our attention to the Fish Chowder Championship. I am looking for volunteer support to help with marketing and event logistics.

4.a Bobber Bob has been lonely, and hasn’t been able to get out as often, now that no LCI employee owns a truck.  Do you have an open-bed pickup and a love of making children laugh? Connect with me and take Bobber Bob out!

4.b LCI’s BLUE program has teamed up with the City of Burlington to create BLUE BTV.  The grant is only open a couple more months, and we need to get the word out!  Help us reach homeowners and let them know that there are funds available to install stormwater best management practices on their properties.   https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/BlueBTV
