Want to grow your own sweet potatoes?

The Champlain Valley Sweet Potato Slip sale is 10am-6pm Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9, at Red Wagon Plants in Hinesburg. Sweet potatoes grow very well in sandy, silty, and loamy soil and each well-rooted Beauregard B-14 slip can produce up to five pounds – and often more!

One pot with three plants is $6 (gardeners half-dozen – buy 6 pots, get one free!) and bulk orders are available. All proceeds from this fundraiser sale benefit Vermont Community Garden Network’s educational programs. Red Wagon Plants is located at 2408 Shelburne Falls Road in Hinesburg.
