We’re getting into our favorite time of year – volunteer season! We need volunteers for a variety of activities this spring and summer. As always, volunteer hours with the Intervale Center count towards City Market member worker hours!

1.Every Tuesday in May from 6-8 PM: Main Street Landing Film Screenings

Every month, Main Street Landing’s weekly movie series brings great classic cinema to the Burlington area. It is a free event open to the public, with donations accepted at the door to benefit a local non-profit.  This month the Intervale Center is the beneficiary and we’re looking for one volunteer to assist us each Tuesday evening in May with concession sales and admission! Dates and times are Tuesday May 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 6-8 PM.  Interested? Email chelsea@intervale.org to sign up!

2. Saturday May18 & 25 from 9 – 3: Native Plant-a-thons

Help the Intervale Conservation Nursery plant more than 2,000 trees in Waitsfield, Essex and Williston that will protect Vermont’s water quality, mitigate climate change, and restore our native landscape. Interested? Click here for more information and email seth@intervale.org to sign up!

These native plant-a-thons are generously underwritten by Healthy Living Market & CafeThank you to our supporting sponsor, Seventh Generation!

3.Local Food Education Outreach Volunteer Position (long-term)

The Intervale Center seeks one committed long-term volunteer to provide educational outreach to low income community members at our weekly free food share pick up. The Intervale Gleaning & Food Rescue Program runs 12 weeks, from July 19th through October 4th and we’re looking for one volunteer to be there every Friday during this 12-week period from 9-11 AM. The Local Food Education & Outreach volunteer will provide direct resources and knowledge to free food share recipients on the different vegetables in their share and how use them. Click here to learn more and email jessica@intervale.org to apply!
