Take Yourself Out to the Ball Game
SlamT1D’s 7th Annual Vermont Summer Classic WIFFLE Ball Tournament will take place on June 23 & 24, 2017 at Little Fenway Complex in Essex, VT. Last year, eighteen teams competed and raised $105,000! This year, our total team fundraising goal is $150,000. Teams are guaranteed 4 games of tournament play, with an opportunity to make the playoffs via tournament play or Wild Card Lottery. Players and fans will enjoy game action with live play-by-play announcers, music, good food, raffle prizes, and the signature Home Run Derby! We are always looking for awesome people to help out. We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 3 hours, but we’d love to have you stay longer. Here are the volunteer categories:
- Parking (assist staff from Green Mountain Concert Services)
- Scoreboard Operator (kids or anyone can do this in pairs)
- General Event
- Scorekeeper (need to understand the rules of baseball)
- Game announcer
- Field manager
- Event set up
- Event take down
Parking volunteers will be assisting Green Mountain Concert Services staff, will only be in that position for one hour at a time, and will be assigned a different task during the rest of their volunteer shift. Games will be played on three fields at Little Fenway Complex on Friday, June 23 from 3:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday, June 24 from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Beverly Hill at Beverly@slamt1d.org. Admission is free and the public is also welcome – the more, the merrier. We hope to see you there.
