Amtrak Shuttle for Breaks

If you are one of the students planning to take Amtrak home for Fall Break (and other breaks) here are the details:
We offer a FREE shuttle bus service for break periods to and from the Amtrak station (on specific days listed below only). No sign up required.

  • TO AMTRAK – The pickup is on the CCM Promenade (where the normal shuttles pickup and drop off). Please be there at 8:45am. The shuttle will depart Champlain promptly at 9:00am (the train departs at 9:44am). Please be on time so that you do not delay others. The driver will not wait. The shuttle will drop you off right at the station.
  • FROM AMTRAK – the pickup stop will be on the north side of Center Street adjacent to the station (see attached). Look out for the Champlain College or Mountain Transit Bus. It will be there before the train arrives and wait until you all arrive. They will drop you off on the CCM promenade. 
  • Amtrak Shuttle Dates for 2021-2022 are:
    • Fall Break – Saturday October 9th
    • Fall Break – Tuesday October 12th
    • Thanksgiving Break – Wednesday November 24th
    • Thanksgiving Break – Sunday November 28th
    • Winter Break – Saturday December 18th
    • Winter Break – Sunday January 16th
    • Spring Break – Saturday March 12th
    • Spring Break – Sunday March 20th
    • End of Spring Semester – Saturday May 7th

If you are going to the Amtrak on Friday (or any other day), you can catch the #2 Essex Junction GMT City Bus from the stop on Pearl St, at the corner of S. Willard.

For those needing to get to the Airport, the #11 Airport GMT City Bus goes frequently, for free and the closest pickup is on College St at the corner of S. Willard. 

For those traveling light there is also a Greenride Bikeshare hub at the Airport, and it is only a 15 minute ride. There is also a hub at the Downtown Transit Center (a 5 minute ride) for those taking Megabus.
