As you may have heard (or are about to), Champlain College has teamed up with CATMA, CCRPC, and UVM to launch a regional bikeshare system to pilot this summer/fall. This is intended to replace our existing ChampRides bikeshare with a more technologically advanced system that connects throughout Chittenden County. Planning is going great thus far and we encourage you all to visit the website for information and updates, catmavt.org/bikeshare.
We have a great opportunity to possibly secure $100,000 (no small sum) through a national competition called “A Community Thrives” to support our goals. Today we have submitted a video showcasing how a bikeshare system in our region will help to improve physical and emotional well-being through more connects to active transportation! The top 10 voted submissions in each category (we submitted under Wellness) will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The panel will determine the top three applicants in each category who will be awarded grants of either $50,000 or $100,000 each
So…THE ASK…Please VOTE for our video (daily) and SHARE with your networks, friends and family. Our bikeshare team will conduct outreach to local partners, stakeholders, advocacy groups, friends & family, as well as national partners to get as much exposure and VOTES as possible!
Voting ends May 12th (PLEASE vote every day!) https://act.usatoday.com/submit
