Please join us for a presentation of a student-designed bee box by the award-winning FH Tuttle Middle School’s Green Mountain Gear Team. Student team members and their coach, Paul Fitzgerald, are seeking an audience to help them hone their presentation in preparation for the regional FIRST Lego League (FLL) competition on December 11th, 2016. The Gears took second place at the Vermont FLL Regional Qualifier at Norwich University on November 16th. If the Gears win the regional competition, they’ll progress to the national and maybe go on to the international competition.

The Gears’ bee box, inspired by the book, Hunting For Wild Bees by Thomas Seeley, addresses this year’s FLL competition theme, Animal Allies. The bee box allows kids to capture wild bees while protecting the safety of both the bees and the kids.
