Job Description:
Sullivan County Natural Resources (SCNR) seeks an Environmental Education and Outreach Specialist (EEOS) who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, open-minded and creative. The EEOS must be an energetic and confident presenter, event planner, collaborator, and facilitator of school groups and volunteer teams.
Working closely with the SCNR Director, the EEOS will:
•        Promote place-based ecology education (PBEE) in Sullivan County by: assisting and partnering with schools, teachers, and School Administrative Unit (SAU) staff to facilitate place-based ecology education; developing a place-based ecology education hub on Sullivan County lands, and working collaboratively with network partners to develop network structure and increase capacity. The incumbent will spend half of their time in this capacity.
•        Assist with coordinating and administering Conservation District programs and activities, including: workshops, educational forums/events, environmental outreach, conservation projects and Board meetings.
•        Assist, on occasion, with management of county-owned lands: forests, fields, wetlands, gardens, etc..

Who We Are:
The Natural Resources Department of Sullivan County NH manages County lands (~2200 acres) and provides environmental assistance county-wide through its Sullivan County Conservation District program. The mission of the department is to conserve and improve natural resources, through management, landowner assistance and educational outreach. We often partner with area schools and are now seeking a dynamic Environmental Education and Outreach Specialist to coordinate place-based ecology education (PBEE) and assist with Conservation District projects and programs.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position. The salary range is $33,000 – $38,000 plus benefits, which include Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Pension, Life & Long-Term Disability Insurance, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Earned Time and paid holidays.
