Vermont Tree Stewards Conference: October 18th

3rd Annual Vermont Tree Stewards Conference
Saturday October 18th, 8:30-4pm
Vermont Technical College Campus, Randolph Center, VT
Student rate: $10

Conference focus: Our Changing Forests
Over the last two decades, New England towns and cities have experienced changing weather patterns and these changes are expected to continue over the next fifty years.  New England is predicted to become warmer and wetter; storms are projected to become more frequent and intense; pest pressure and periods of extreme heat are expected to increase; as will the frequency and severity of short- and long-term drought.  These changes will likely alter the composition and structure of our urban forests.  At this year’s Vermont Tree Stewards Conference we’ll consider these changes; scientists, practitioners, and citizens will share how we can work locally to shape our future forests and use them to sustain our communities in the face of climate change.
