Labor Day event with Bernie Sanders

Celebrate Labor Day with Bernie Sanders and Vermont’s Labor Unions on Monday, September 1st at 12 Noon.

WHAT: Free Barbecue and music by Julie Winn and Friends starting at 12:00 pm, with speakers including Sen. Bernie Sanders at 1:00 pm.

This free event is not only an awesome way to spend your day off (or on, if you go to Champlain), it’s also an opportunity to come out and support VT’s Labor Unions.  The history of labor activism and organizing in the United States is long and colorful, and has boasted victories from which we all benefit, including the 8 hour work day. Recent successes of union organizing can be seen in last spring’s CCTA Bus Driver’s Strike, which resulted in a fair drivers, thanks to support from the union and the Burlington community.

Whether you’re already an avid supporter of organized labor, or an interested someone looking to learn more, come on out on Monday, September 1st for riveting speeches, kickin’ music, and delectable food.
