The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation is currently hiring for two positions.

Green Infrastructure Specialist
This is a temporary position with the Watershed Management Division, Ecosystem Restoration Program. Primary responsibilities include providing support to organizations performing stormwater education and outreach, assisting with coordination of the Green Infrastructure Roundtable, assisting with coordination and implementation of the Green Infrastructure Strategic Plan, developing educational resources, and providing general educational and technical assistance to individuals and groups within Vermont seeking more information on low impact development (LID) and green stormwater infrastructure (GSI). Other duties include assisting with the coordination of trainings and workshops, and developing content for the Division’s Green Infrastructure webpage.

Environmental Permit Administrator
The Admin and Compliance Program of the Watershed Management Division provides administrative and technical support for the Division’s permitting programs (Stormwater, Wastewater, Lakes and Ponds, Wetlands, and Rivers) and seeks an experienced individual to join their team. The team reviews and processes permit applications, tracks permit compliance, deals with permit billing and receivables, performs website and database development work, and provides a high level of internal and external (public) assistance. This position will assist the team in performing these duties; with the scope of duties dependent on the individual’s experience and interests. Candidates should have excellent computer and communication skills (verbal and written), experience handling multiple projects, and the ability to work effectively in an open-office environment. Database, GIS, accounting, or permitting experience/knowledge is preferred.
